Respecting the confidentiality of personal information is an issue at the heart of Lafleur Garage Doors's concerns. For the purposes of this Policy and as defined in section 12 para. 4 (2) Private Sector Privacy Act, personal information is sensitive “when, by its nature or because of the context in which it is used or disclosed, it gives rise to a high level of reasonable expectation of privacy.”

You can completely refuse to provide us with one or more of the sensitive personal information requested, in which case we may not be able to provide you with certain services that require the information in question.

1.3. Withdraw consent

4.3. Communication of personal information from affiliated websites

Some of our services are offered in connection with other websites. 5. Retention and destruction of personal information

(art. 10 LP) Personal information is encrypted at rest and always encrypted during backups.

To ensure the security of your personal data, we implement precautionary measures in accordance with industry standards to prevent the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or inappropriate destruction of this information.

When you give us your credit card information, it is encrypted. Although the transmission of data over the Internet or its electronic storage cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure, we comply with industry security requirements and apply additional security measures recognized within the industry.

We use TLS decryption and use a secure SSH protocol when a user fills out an online form. In order to keep data securely, we use Microsoft SQL databases based exclusively in Quebec whose access is restricted. In addition, with the consent of the visitor, in order to understand the behavior of users on our sites and to identify their interests in our various garage door models offered on our site, we may sometimes associate a unique identifier with each user containing personally identifiable information (PII), which includes, but is not limited to, IP address, name, address, and telephone number. This unique identifier is also stored securely in a Microsoft SQL database located in Quebec.

Access to personal information is strictly reserved for employees, mandataries, subcontractors and agents acting on behalf of Lafleur Garage Doors who need access to it in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These persons are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to sanctions up to and including dismissal and legal proceedings in the event of a breach of these obligations. (art. 20 LP) In order to control access to personal information, each person authorized to access personal information has a username and password.

However, it is important to keep in mind that no system for collecting, communicating, or maintaining data can guarantee 100% security. It is therefore also your responsibility to ensure that your information is transmitted securely, including by advising us if you doubt that the security of your information is at risk (See section 11 for contact details of the privacy officer).

7. User Rights Relating to Disclosed Personal Information

A user may, at any time, request access or correction of the file containing the personal information we hold about them if the information is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal. We want accurate information in order to provide you with the best service. Do not hesitate to request access or correction by contacting our Privacy Officer (see section 11). This request must be in writing and must contain proof that confirms the identity of the user or his representative. (art. 30 LP)

A user may also request more information about how we use personal information.

Any user may request that the computerized personal information that we hold about them be communicated to them in an accessible and legible technological format. (art. 27 LP)

A user may also request that we delete information that we no longer believe is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was provided and consented to or that no longer has a legal basis for its use.

As mentioned above, any user can also change their consent to the use of personal information.

A user may also file a complaint with our Privacy Officer (see section 11) and request that we limit the use of their information while the complaint is being processed.

A user also has the right to request that they not be subject to a decision based solely on the automated processing of their personal information Personal information incidents.

If we have reason to believe that an incident involving users' personal information has occurred, we are committed to taking reasonable steps to limit the risk of harm and to being proactive in creating preventive measures.

If we believe that serious harm could result from a personal information incident, we will notify the Commission d'Accès à l'Information and any user whose personal information is affected by the incident in the manner provided for by law. (art. 3.5 LP) We are also committed to keeping a record of confidentiality incidents (art. 3.8 LP)

8. Links to other sites

When a user clicks on a link to a website that does not belong to us, it is their responsibility to check the privacy and cookie policies applicable to the site in question. This Policy applies only to our website and we are not responsible for the content of third party websites.

9. Third-party privacy policies

By interacting with YouTube videos on this website, users agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Use. Please also refer to the Google Privacy Policy.

10. Change to the Policy

Please note that this Policy is subject to change at any time. No change, even minor, that results in a decrease in your rights hereunder may take place without your express consent.
